Orly - Rococo A Go Go Swatch

Hey everyone!
Here I am, As promised! I have a swatch for you today, of this polish that has been sitting, neglected, in my sad little unposted folder for longer than it should have been.

I would say that this is a berry based polish with some super sick gold flakies in it. I've seen other swatches that range from purple/berry to pink/red, and for me, comparing these images to the bottle, I'd say that it's pretty accurate. I guess it all depends on which lighting you photograph this in, which shows how dynamic it can be!
I loved this polish. Smooth and good to go in 2 coats, all of the shimmery, flakie goodness and the color change!

See you all again Friday!

Nail Wheel Nail Art

Why hello there, lovely, lovely peoples!
To be completely and utterly honest, I've been quite a lazy bones lately. I have been absolutely awful with keeping up with my posting schedule of Monday, Wednesday and Friday and I feel bad about it! I at least find solace in the fact that I've at least posted once a week this past month! I swear this butt will get into gear, though! I'm pinning tons of inspiration on Pinterest and my minds been swimming with ideas. Which brings me to my nail wheel of nail art :

I had tons of fun creating these nails. It's like my creativity exploded all over this nail wheel and I'm quite happy with how it turned out.
I'll have to remember some of these designs, for sure, because some of these would make an awesome full set of nails!

See you all Wednesday (I swear it!)

Simple Half Moon Nail art with a twist!

Hey all!
I was stumped with what to do today, but had a last minute spur of creativity!
This is a half moon mani with a twist!

I started out with my base color, Square Hue - Shibuya then used my Sally Hansen I <3 Nail Art Black striper to make the spikeys.
This was incredibly simple and adds quite a bit of pizzazz to the typical half moon nail art.
I love it so much I'm going to keep it until Friday, when I have to do another post!
Happy Humpday!

Jelly Sandwich!

Hey all!
It's Monday and that means another Mani Monday Challenge hosted by The Nail Files by Lynda.
Today's theme is Jelly Sandwich which means I had to try this out for the first time ever! I wasn't sure if it would turn out but I believe I did decent! Here it is:

I guess you couldn't really tell if it was a jelly sandwich by first glance, but I promise you it is!
I started out with black as a base, then added my glitter, which I made and you can see in the picture. Then I added a coat of holo-y-color shifty goodness that I also made, then more glitter, then holo-y-color shifty goodness and topped it off with another coat of glitter.
Also, you probably recognize this holo/color shift polish from last week. I don't have that many jelly polishes, so had to make do with the closest thing I had to jelly!

The irridescent hexes are awfully picture shy so they didn't really make an appearance in the photos above.
For my next jelly sandwich, I think more contrasting colors would make the sandwich more obvious, but for a first try, I'd say it looks fine! See you all Wednesday!

Love 4 JLK

Hello everyone, and Happy Valentines day!
Today we'll be taking a bit of a different turn here on my blog for Valentines day. I've been following THIS blog for a while and every post has broken my heart. This beautiful little girl, JLK, was diagnosed back in October of 2013 with DIPG. The blog has been written by JLK's mother and chronicles her heartbreak through this difficult time in both her and her families lives. I encourage you to send your love and prayers to the family of JLK, as she has just gained her angel wings as of 2/12/14.
"The Glitter Squad", as the followers of JLK's story are called, inspired me to get my glitter loving butt into gear and DO something in honor of JLK and all of the other children who suffer such awful things.
Since it's Valentine's Day, I thought I'd start by sharing the love in a different way..

This is Love 4 JLK :

I made this glittery goody which features gold and pink holo hexes, holo "fairy dust" and silver glitter.
This nail polish is available HERE .
The best part about it? ALL PROCEEDS WILL GO TO A GOOD CAUSE! 50% will go to the Family of JLK, and you can find her donation website HERE. And 50% will go to St. Jude Children's Hospital, website found HERE.
The only thing that will not go to charity will, of course, be the shipping costs.

The nail polish is available in a Full Size for $7.00 and Mini Size for $3.50
This is a special nail polish that will be available for 1 month, starting today, 2/14/14 to 3/14/14.
All money earned from the sales of these nail polishes will go to the JLK donation site and St.Jude's website.
Thank you so much for reading and if you don't wish to buy a polish, at least keep the family of JLK in your thoughts and prayers!

Sing For Me by Yellowcard

Hey everyone!
Today..well..technically it will be yesterday by the time this is posted, was/is Mani Monday Challenge by Lynda. Today's theme was Inspired by a Love Song. I couldn't think of a love song so I asked Mr.LL and he recommended this song by Yellowcard. And I came up with this :

I couldn't find my white migi nail art pen so I did this all by hand with a tiny brush and I'm quite happy with how it came out! The background is inspired by the  Album:

I loved this theme and can't wait for next Monday's challenge!

Valentines Day Mani #2 - Before and After

Hello all!
I've had a multitude of doctors appointments this week so I'm so sorry for the lack of posting. In other news, I had something set up with one of those deal websites and they completely and utterly cancelled on me, saying that they no longer sell beauty products, such as nail polish, because they had other problems with it in the past. Now these people literally just contacted me on the 15th of January. They didn't bother at all to tell me, after I bought over $200 in mini polish bottles and supplies, that they no longer wished to sell my product. I had to contact THEM and even then, they stopped responding to my emails after I told them that I put hours of effort and lots of money into creating mini grab bags that they requested from ME.
Ugh! I was so upset when this happened, I just made a whole new set of polishes I was so angry!
I guess I'm just left with 300 bottles of minis..I'll figure something cool out to do with them though.
Anyways, here's something a little bit more happy for you, some valentines day nail art WITH a before that I did when I first started my blog and after!

Pinks I used: China Glaze : Passion for Petals, Sinful Colors : Outrages, Dream On and Island Coral
Base color : Zoya : Storm
I think my first attempt is an absolute FAIL but I really like how it came out this time around. I'll have one more before and after valentines day nail art before the valentines grand finale!
Have a happy, happy Friday ya'll!

Superbowl Nail Art Before and After

Hey everyone!
I'm sure by now you're either all enjoying the super bowl OR completely ignoring all of the sporty references to this ball and foot game that you're completely indifferent too.
I am currently with family though, and of course I'm watching the game. If you recall one of my first posts was about the super bowl and I did some super bowl nails. I decided for this years SB I'd recreate the look I did last year, and oh dear have my nail art skills improved!

As you can see in this little comparison pic, I've learned tons about nail art in this past year.
I don't much care who wins and who loses, it was just fun to see how far I've come in the nail art world.

I'll have a bloggiversary post for you all tomorrow, but for now, Happy Superbowl!
