China Glaze - Man Hunt Swatch and Review

Hello lovely ladies and gents!
What a day to present to you such an awesome, bright and summery polish! Yesterday it was in the 80's here in the lovely MN.
I'm tired of sweater weather! It's been time for a change to sunny, and boy do I have a polish that will lighten your day up like the sun!

Meet, the lovely, the stunning : China Glaze, Man Hunt!!

Give her a round of applause!
In one thick coat (or two thin), whatever your preference may be, it was such an easy and smooth polish to work with. I opted for 1 thicker coat and, surprise! No top coat!
I was shocked at the amount of shine in this little bottle.
Shiny color, shiny coat. Shiny, shiny, shine!

Boy, she sure is a beaut!

What summer colors are YOU all lookin' to wear?
I know I'll be sport in' this as long as I can!

China Glaze - Put a Bow on it Swatch and Review

Happy Monday, everybun!
I am, once again, so freakin' happy to be here. It's like a whole new world has been opened up to me once again!
Are you all as excited as I am to feast your eyes on this pretty little swatchy of China Glaze, that has been staring me in the eye, sitting and waiting on the shelf behind my toilet day in and day out. Finally, just the other day as I was taking a bath and doing my acrylics (yeah, okay, it might not be a good idea to do that with the water and acrylic powder and all. But I'm very Pro..sort of..Okay, I'm smart enough to not flail around and get chemicals everywhere!), I look up and realize, hot damn, I forgot to grab some polish! Guess who was staring me straight in the eye? This little pretty! :

I actually wasn't even sure if she was a full coverage glitter, I just put her on, prayed, and 3 coats later we were golden! In the picture is 3 days of wear, which you can see a bit on the tips but other than that I had no issues with formula etc. She was a bit gritty and matte-ish but all was fixed with a nice helping of Seche Vite.
Put a Bow on it is one of those in your face glitters than caused me to have PLS (Polish Looking Syndrome). You know when you have a color on, and it's so pretty, you keep sneaking glances at it in different lights whenever you can? PLS! As in PLS get me some more of this polish..*generic laugh track*
Really folks, I'm here ALL NIGHT!

Terrible jokes aside, I have found a true winner in this glittery glory, 5/5 would recommend to a friend!

Valentines Day Mani #2 - Before and After

Hello all!
I've had a multitude of doctors appointments this week so I'm so sorry for the lack of posting. In other news, I had something set up with one of those deal websites and they completely and utterly cancelled on me, saying that they no longer sell beauty products, such as nail polish, because they had other problems with it in the past. Now these people literally just contacted me on the 15th of January. They didn't bother at all to tell me, after I bought over $200 in mini polish bottles and supplies, that they no longer wished to sell my product. I had to contact THEM and even then, they stopped responding to my emails after I told them that I put hours of effort and lots of money into creating mini grab bags that they requested from ME.
Ugh! I was so upset when this happened, I just made a whole new set of polishes I was so angry!
I guess I'm just left with 300 bottles of minis..I'll figure something cool out to do with them though.
Anyways, here's something a little bit more happy for you, some valentines day nail art WITH a before that I did when I first started my blog and after!

Pinks I used: China Glaze : Passion for Petals, Sinful Colors : Outrages, Dream On and Island Coral
Base color : Zoya : Storm
I think my first attempt is an absolute FAIL but I really like how it came out this time around. I'll have one more before and after valentines day nail art before the valentines grand finale!
Have a happy, happy Friday ya'll!

Leopard Print Throwback

Hi everybun! It was 12:33am last night when I realized I missed Sunday Bunday and for that I apologize!

But I do have a bit of a throwback today. Remember this? Where I called it cheetah print yet it was actually leopard?
Well I thought I'd dabble with that design again, except this time I plan to call it what it actually is!

I used China Glaze - White Cap for the shimmer
 an unnamed Color Club green
and
Sinful Colors - Ebony Hates Chris

See you all again Wednesday. Also, college has started up again so I'll try to stay on top of my stuff but I have 5 classes to juggle!

The Colors I used were
Sally Hansen - Tough Love
China Glaze - Man Hunt
Sinful Colors - Snow Me White
The glitters I used were
Sinful Colors - Nail Junkie
Shimmer - Ava
Wet n Wild - Kaleidascope
Sally Hansen - Crystal Beading

Happy 4th of July everyone!

Rosey Posies

Hello everybun! Happy Sunday Bunday!

For todays Sunday Bunday I don't have any buns but I do have some pretty roses that were inspired from Work Play Polish!

BTW I've changed my watermark and I'm doing better with my photographing and stuff, so I hope my images are looking a little bit better.

The pink flower was my favorite, but my pointer finger got smudged with the red and I didn't have time to fix it so not I think it looks blah :(

Speaking of the colors, this is
Julie G - Hot Cinnamon
Julie G - Crushed Candy
China Glaze - In the Rough

Of course WPP did much better but I love this design so much I will definitely try it out again!

The Black I used was Zoya - Raven. BEST BLACK I'VE EVER USED IN MY LIFE!

I had to take pictures of it alone just because it was so beautiful!

There's a super pretty slight grey shimmer that you can only see when you examine it closely and the formula was as smooth as butter. I almost don't want to use it until I get a back up bottle because it's honestly the best black I've ever used!

Sally Hansen Sugar Coat - Razzleberry Vs. China Glaze Texture - In The Rough

Hello lovelies, I feel terrible because lately I haven't been doing the ER31DC!
I've been so busy with my polish stuff besides doing a full cleaning of the house and taking care of the new bun, life has been hectic lately!
What I DID manage to do was a quick polish and comparison of the China Glaze Texture and Sally Hansen Sugar Coat that I picked up the other day.

Behold!

This is two coats of each. The Sugar Coat is the Blue one and the Texture is the green one.

Formula wise, the Sugar Coat was more textured in the bottle, but thinner and easier to work with. The Texture was thicker and harder to work with.

Sugar Coat was much more, well, sugary! It had a better feel to it. While Texture was textured, but had a patchy issue where some spots would be more textured than others and you can kind of see that in the picture above.

Overall they're both really nice, despite some of the problems with the China Glaze, the color is lovely and in the end the results payout. The Sugar Coat was a lovely surprise since I've heard some odd things about the formula, to me it was great if not a bit better than the China Glaze. BUT as I suspected, the blue DOES STAIN. So use a base coat.

What do you guys like more? China Glaze's Texture or Sally Hansen's Sugar Coat? Have you tried them out yet?

Lazy Sunday Bunday

Happy Sunday Bunday, Lovelys!

Sunday, to me, means Lazy and Lazy means P.J's, so what more of a fitting theme to have on Sunday Bunday than a P.J inspired mani!

As a side note, I must note that dialect differs so I feel I should clarify what P.J's are.
Once in school a while back we had a foreign exchange student who just so happened to arrive during our school spirit week. Each day was a different theme leading up to the homecoming football game and Monday's theme of that week was P.J Day. Well, not knowing what P.J's were and I'm sure she was to afraid to ask, she came to school in a peanut butter and jelly sandwich themed outfit. She looked like a walking sandwich I kid you not, from head to toe in beige with a purple shirt underneath. I question to this day why the student who hosted her let her walk out the door looking like a sandwich.

P.J's are not Peanut butter and Jellies.

P.J's are Pajamas, Jammies, Nightwear, Sleep suits, whatever you want to call em' , they're the things you wear when you go to sleep!

Now on to more of the nail art, which is what you've come here for and NOT in fact a story of my high school years!

And here are the polishes I used not including the black.

Of course I can't jip you out of the whole point of Sunday Bunday so here is the one and only, Harvey!

He's just chillin' in his litter box NBD.

Happy Sunday Bunday once again!

Polka Spots

Hi everyone!
I'm racing the clock because I completely blanked on an idea for today's mani!

Then I remembered Sophie was having a competition that involved polka spots and the randomness began!

I also went on a huge China Glaze haul today because Sally's is having a buy 2 get 1 free through the month of April.

So here it is!

The colors I used in rainbow order were :

China Glaze - Passion for Petals
China Glaze - Celtic Sun
China Glaze - For Audrey
China Glaze - Fancy Pants

I also had a random easter egg laying around that sort of matched and this happened :

I love my little polka spots!

Extra Relaxed 31 Day Challenge - Day 5

The first thing I thought to myself when I blindly grabbed for 3 random yet closely related blues was, Oh no, This is going to be a DISASTER!

Yet as I finished my last nail, I'm proud to say my crazy willy nilly attitude produced some quality nail art!

The orange/coral is the same I used Wednesday. I know it's odd to pair orange with blue  I think its odd to pair orange with blue and I sort of just grabbed at blues that looked pretty in my drawer! From lightest to darkest they are :

China Glaze - Turned up Turquoise
Spoiled - Distant Memory
Wet n Wild -Bijou Blue

I'm really happy with my blues!

In unrelated blue news I decided I'd like to try my hand at making my own indie polish (not to be confused with frankening, which is taking already made polish and mixing them together,  for those who don't know ((I'm talking to you mom!)) I'm talking about the whole 9 yards.. hell.. I'm talking the whole 10 yards! I bought a starter kit on etsy and a few micas and glitters I saw on my search for supplies and for now I'm going to see if I'm actually good at it. I don't want to go all out on something I'm not even sure that I'm good at.

I'll give you all more details in the future when I actually get to the mix'n!

Check out the rest of the girls Blue nails down below and have a happy Friday!

Pure Ice - Platinum & China Glaze - Whirled Away

Hi all,
Today's mani was a result of nothing but pure boredom. I slathered on a few coats of Pure Ice and wondered what else I could do with it. That's when I saw my nail mail that I recently got from Holly over at Holly and Polish. She's actually currently having a blog sale and you can check out what she has here. I found these really pretty liquid eyeliners and at the end of this post I'll show you the polishes I picked up!

Anyways, here is what I came up with due to my boredom.

That's right! A mani so easy, virtually anyone could do it!

The more I look, the more I like it! I used 3 coats of Pure Ice , 1 coat of China Glaze and 1 Coat of Seche (thus the little bubbles on my ring and pointer fingers)

and here is my promised nail mail pic!

I asked her to send me 3 surprise Shimmer polishes from the list that she had and I loved the ones she chose and of course I snatched up Whirled Away because I've seen it EVERYWHERE. Barielle is something that I haven't seen because according to the Website where they have their "where to buy" tab, they don't sell it anywhere where I live. Boo. I'll show you what I've done with this little beauty on Friday!

Have a happy humpday!

MyAwesomeBeauty Competition

Hello All! Today I have some nail art that I've entered in the MyAwesomeBeauty competition found here .

And here are the colors I used (as well as Nina Ultra Pro - Black)

From left to right :

China Glaze - Secret Periwinkle
 Sinful Colors - Innocent
China Glaze - Turned Up Turquoise

And last but not least, here is my entry

Wish me luck!

Valentine's Mani - Day 2

Here we are with Day 2 of my Valentine's Day - Week nail art. This is a much more simple mani and one of my favorites that I've recently done.

For the sparkles/hearts I used Kiss Nail Art Paint which doesn't have a name. But it's a sparkly pink, even though it looks more purple above

For the Pink/Purple I used China Glaze - Split Perso-Nail-Ity from the new Tranzitions line. To get the color to change from pink to purple, all you need to do is add top coat. I used Seche Vite.

I don't know if it was because of my acrylic nails or if anyone else had this problem, but my nails stained a terrible purple upon removal. I used Seche Vite Base Coat, which usually curves the staining to nothing but this time it didn't work. I had to file my acrylic all the way down to the nail bed and on some nails even my nail bed was stained. It was TERRIBLE. The application was a bit gloopy as well and it took 2 coats to try to even it out (even though it still wasn't even on some nails, like my thumb).

I like the concept of this nail polish, but hopefully not all experiences with this are the same as mine

Here's a close up of the hearts and such

Tomorrow's Valentines day so look out for my Valentine's Day Finale!
