Mia Secret Crackle - White

Hi everybun!

Looking at these nails now, don't they remind you of tie dye? Or those tie dye fruit roll ups? Mmmm, I love fruit roll ups...

Underneath this Mia Secret Crackle in White, is actually a failed ikat design. I got angry with it and reached for the closest thing to cover this up, which turned out to be the Mia Secret! I had previous issues with other crackles I used NOT crackling enough and after a rough patch in my crackle relationship I decided out of exasperation to give it another go.

Somethin' musta worked right because look at the lovely little crackles this produced! Yeesh do all the layers of polish make my nails look thick though. This was actually the Julep - Abbie that I had on about a week ago. It took 4 coats for opacity so on top of the numerous other coats (failed ikat design, top coat, crackle, top coat) of course my nails looked faker than fake!

Oh well, the design is pretty anyway!

Have a lovely Thursday and I'll see you all tomorrow with the ER31DC!

Julep - Madeline and I Love Nail Polish - All Gold Everything

Hi guys!

I was super lazy and decided to just do a gradient on the hand that didn't have the bunnies. I put Julep - Madeline on, which is a part of their Sea Salt collection and then used the brush of I Love Nail Polish - All Gold Everything to make the gradient.

Yay gold and pink! I was surprised how Madeline wasn't as annoying as I thought it would be. I have issues with the gritty feeling of liquid sand and this didn't feel gritty at all!

Happy Monday!

Extra Relaxed 31 Day Challenge - Animal Print

Hello lovely readers!
I see I have quite a few new followers, and the question I asked for one of my giveaways was what do you want to see more of. I got a lot of responses saying tutorials so here is my first ever tutorial! It's simple and hopefully easy to follow so why not give it a try!

And since today is the Extra Relaxed 31 Day Challenge hosted by Rambles of a Polish Addict, I guess I'm just being hella efficient! These spottys remind me of snake skin, so I guess that's what I'll call these little guys.
I loved this mani because the spots were pretty nicely rounded and the eraser worked wonderfully as a large dotting tool! The Zoya I used was Charla and the Black was Maybelline - Twilight Rays

See you all on sunday bunday!

p.s. This weekend I'll be doing some overhaulin' to my site because I can never seem to settle on a design for too long, so if anything looks wonky or weird it's because of this!

Julep - Abbie

Hello all!
I was totally going to do nail art for today but for all the work I had to do to apply Julep - Abbie, I just had to do a swatch review!

My dog, (yes I meant to type Dog! Believe in the power of Dog and all shall be forgiven!) do these look thick don't they? That's because I was dumb and believed I would achieve full opacity without using a white base. This was 4 coats! And look at the bottle! I used this polish once before on one nail (my ducky nail from my animal nails last week) and now look at it! It's almost half gone!

I swear my my nails did not look this thick after I did my acrylics!

I have some nail art planned for this, I wouldn't want to waste all of that polish and not make something pretty out of it!

So word from the wise! DO NOT use Abbie alone! Use white as your base coat and then use Abbie, trust me it will save you another manicures worth of  polish!

Happy Monday! And remember, this Wednesday will see a lack of nail art because the giveaway is will be set to go!

Animal Nails Part 2

Yay! Happy Sunday Bunday!

Today is part 2 of my Animal Nails. Once again, these little guys were inspired from an envelope I received as a part of the spring postcard exchange on BunSpace.

On to the nails!

From left to right, Fox, Snake, Bunny, Dolphin and my thumb is a panda!

And here they all are together!

Bun bun bunny bunz time!

He was all flopped out and I thought his ears looked really cute because they're on the ground!
He's actually in the same position right now except for facing the other way! I took this a few hours ago and he's flopped everywhere since then!

P.S I have all of the stufff for the giveaway ready to go! I'm just waiting for a nice sunny day to photograph it all, hopefully one of these days will be!

Animal Nails Part 1

Hello all!

A few things before we get to todays post.
1) I'm sure no one noticed but I missed a post on wednesday! I was at a Twins game and I was unable to make a design that day. I got sunburned, it was hot and they lost!
2) I know today is Stripes in the ER31DC, but for the life of me I did 3 different stripey designs and none of them turned out! So today's mani was inspired from frustration!
but it turned into cute frustration nonetheless!

The first one is a giraffe, the middle is an owl, the ring is a seal (MY FAVORITE ANIMAL!!!!!!!!!) and the pinky is an owl! Oh, and I didn't get a shot of my thumb but that little chicky is peeking out in the pictures below!

As you can see this was a homemade envelope that contained a postcard and was sent to me from the BunSpace spring postcard exchange! The Mommy of Benito, Charlie and DiDi made this card. This came allll the way from the Netherlands and I thought the card was absolutely adorable when I received it and immediately thought of doing nail art for it the minute it was in my hands!

As you can see there's lots of cute animals on each side of the envelope. On bunday I will post Part 2 of my animal nails because I cannot pass up doing more of these cuties. Of course I'll have to include a bunny in part 2 as well!

Have a wonderful friday and I'll be sure to post my stripeys when I get the courage to take a stab at them again. Maybe the ladies will have something that will inspire me! I will put the link for the challenge at the bottom anyways so you can check them out!

P.S Can you tell that my camera flopped out and died (I cannot find the charger for the life of me!) and I'm using my cell phone?
I'd say my phone does a pretty good job at mimicking my camera! Does that mean I have a Good quality phone or crappy quality camera..hmm..

Black Glitter Gradient - Sparkly, Sparkly!

Hello lovelys! Happy Monday!

It's true.. Once you start the gradient you just don't stop!
The following glitter gradient truly was never meant to be. I was totally going for an edgy punk rock look and somehow transformed it into WOO LET'S GO TO THE CLUB * obnoxious house music*

The black is Nina Ultra pro
The glitters are Wet n Wild - Kaleidoscope
and
Sally Hansen - Twinkle, Twinkle

Despite this mani not turning out the way I wanted it too, I'm happy with the final product!

Oh gradients..my new love!

Sunday Bunday and Upcoming Giveaway Announcement!

Hello Everyone and Happy Sunday Bunday!

Unfortunately, I do not have a nail design for today's Sunday Bunday, but on the flip side I do have a bunderful announcement for you all!

The Giveaway for the opening of Leesha's Lacquer on etsy is almost here!

The giveaway is really a double giveaway, I will have two different posts with two different types of stufff to give away! One post will be dedicated to nail polish and nail stuff and the other will be dedicated to make up and beauty products. I know some girls would prefer the beauty and some prefer the nail stufff so I decided to chop up the giveaway into two different raffle copters so you can enter in one giveaway or the other or both if you'd like! This is to ensure that you all get what you want and there is no confusion over which prize you will get. Again, you can enter both giveaways if you'd like, there's no restrictions on that. I'll be researching further this week into oversea shipping and when the giveaway comes I'll let you all know whether this giveaway is open internationall (fingers crossed!)

I have tons of cool prizes from zoya to yves rocher and mirabella.

Are you all as excited as I am?!

The giveaway will officially start Wednesday, May 22nd and will run for a month.

If you have any more questions about the give away feel free to ask below or shoot me an email which you can find on my contact page!

And of course we can't forget it's Sunday Bunday!

We can't forget about the star harlequin of the show! Even he's excited about the giveaway!

Zoya - Julie

Hello lovelys!

Last week I recieved my Zoya haul and finally this week I've began to re-organize my stash. So since my nail polish stash is in a turmoil, I decided to grab what was closest to me at the moment, Zoya - Julie!

Julie is a lovely lavender from the Lovely collection. She has loads of beautiful shimmer, and took 3 coats for full coverage.
Now I know I don't know crap about which colors suit which skin tone, but I'm pretty sure this color looks lovely against my skin!

The shot above was taken in the sun, love, love love!

And here is the picture of my haul from Zoya + 1 random hot topic polish that I got in a separate package at the same time so I decided to throw it in!

Leesha's Lacquer, Lacquer

Wonderful, Bunderful news!
I'm sure you all recall that a little over a month ago I started to dabble into the nail polish creating world. Well, I've decided to start selling my polishes!

I'll be announcing everything right here on my blog regarding my shop opening. The weeks leading up to the grand opening of my Etsy store I'll be hosting giveaways and my favorite, a competition to not only win some of my creations, but there will be other goody, goody prizes as well!

I've got a pretty fun line of glitters in my mind and some really cool holos I'd like to try out. There's so many things that you don't think matter when it comes to making nail polish but they do! Oh the stickers I must order and the little mixxy balls I need to keep in stock! It's a lot of work but I'm super excited to start sharing with you all my nail polish babies!

So just look forward to announcements in the coming weeks, I hope you're all as excited as I am!

Using Elmer's Glue as a Base Coat - The easiest way to remove glitter!

Do you, like many other unfortunate souls, love glitter but HATE the removal or just plain hate removing nail polish in general?

Well I know that Essence has their own Peel Off Base Coat, but I'm sure many of you have the cheaper alternatives sitting right in your own home!

The answer to all of your glitter removal disasters IS...Elmer's Glue! Or any other brand of runny glue that has approximately the same ingredients as Elmer's (which is pretty much every glue!).

Here are the things that you need for your very own DIY Peel Off Base Coat  :

Elmer's Glue, A Toothpick and A Brush to apply the glue to your nails!

Simple right?

What I did was I took one of the random brushes I had laying around, any one will do, the one I happened to find was a paint brush. I used that brush to paint a nice thick coat of elmers glue on each of my nails. I waited until the glue turned from white to clear and then painted my nails with the closest polish I had on hand!

Here is what my nails looked like directly after, there were a few bumps from the glue but I'm sure top coat would fix it. Isn't it ironic that I didn't use glitter for this tutorial?!

Sick of your manicure? Time for removal!
Break out that toothpick and start picking away!

The polish should just start chipping away and you can easily peel it off once you get it started. As you can see on my ring finger the places where there wasn't glue didn't peel up, but it's nothing a little nail polish remover can't fix right up!

I wore this mani for 2 days before I started to get some tip wear, as seen on my pinky and middle finger. And as yuck as it may seem, here is what has become of the sad little polish strips. I'll save you the eyesore and allow the image to be at its smallest!
And that's it! That is how you remove any type of nail polish with a dash of elmer's glue as your base!

Next week I'll show you another way to remove nail polish with more house hold items that you probably have laying around.

Butterfly Bunday

Hello and Happy Cinco de Mayo as well as Sunday Bunday!
Regarding this mani. Have you ever had those days where you polish your nails and nothing is turning out right? This mani was the result of 3, yes 3, failed mani's and finally I was just like EFF IT *ANGRY SLATHERING OF NAIL POLISH* *ANGRY CREATION OF THE FIRST THING THAT POPS INTO MY HEAD* *ANGRY REMOVAL OF THE STUPID SWIRLY DESIGN* *ANGRY REPOLISH AND DESIGN OF THE NEXT THING THAT POPS INTO MY HEAD*

I'm not proud of it but it was all I could pull off in such angry circumstances!

Even as I put my blog watermark on it I thought to myself, Why bother, no one would wish to steal these anyway!

In a happier occasion, we shall all now view the wonderful, the furry, the I-tear-up-mommies-carpet-because-I'm-bored-even-though-I-have-at-least-twenty-toys, the one and only HARVEY!

Not to mention he enjoys tearing up his bed too! Exhibit A in the picture above.
BTW, he's licking his piggy in the bottom picture, he loves licking soft things like piggy and ducky and his bed!

Happy Cinco de Bunday!
